To add Google and Yelp reviews to your website, start with the action you want visitors to take. A homeowner comparing two electricians wants to read about a similar repair. A customer who has just paid the invoice needs a quick way to write a review. Give each visitor the right link.
A link to each public profile is enough for many small businesses. Add an embedded review when a customer’s own words help explain what it’s like to hire you.
Choose the right review link

For people reading reviews, open the business listing in Google Maps and use Share to copy its link. Label the link “Read our Google reviews.” On Yelp, link to the public business page with “Find us on Yelp.” If you have several locations, choose the branch featured on the page.
For people writing a Google review, use the review request link from your Business Profile. Put it in a follow-up email or on your thank-you page. A customer who wants to leave feedback should land at the review prompt.
How to embed a Yelp review

- Open your public Yelp business page on a desktop browser. Find a recommended review that describes the service on your page.
- Open the three-dot menu beside the review and choose Embed review. Copy the complete snippet.
- Paste the snippet into a website block that accepts embed code. Preview the page and follow the link back to Yelp to confirm it opens the right business.
How to display Google reviews on your website

For a contact page, a link to your listing may be enough. If visitors need to read feedback without leaving the page, choose a widget that identifies its data source, or ask your developer to use Google’s Places API.
For a custom integration, request the reviews field for the correct Place ID. Google returns up to five reviews selected by relevance. Label them “Selected Google reviews.” Calling them the five latest reviews would imply a different selection. Keep the required Google Maps and reviewer attribution, including the available source links. Google’s review fields · Attribution requirements.
Test the widget at phone width before putting it on every page. Can visitors read a long review and still reach your contact details? Keep a plain link to the listing alongside it so customers can read more if the widget fails to load.
How to get a Google review link or QR code

Open your Google Business Profile, select Read reviews, then Get more reviews. Copy the link and label it “Write a Google review.” From a desktop browser, you can also download a QR code for a receipt or counter sign. Scan it on your phone and check the business name before printing. Google’s link and QR code instructions.
Ask for honest feedback after a real interaction. Google prohibits incentives such as discounts in exchange for reviews. Yelp advises businesses against soliciting reviews, so use a neutral profile link there. For a Google follow-up routine, see our guide to getting consistent Google reviews.
Can review widgets give your business stars in Google Search?
A local business displaying reviews about itself is ineligible for Google’s review-star feature for that business, even when the reviews come from a third-party widget. Choose a testimonial because it answers a customer’s question. Adding star-rating markup to your own testimonials does not make them eligible for stars in search. Google’s review snippet guidelines.
Before publishing, open each link on your phone, check the location, and confirm the reviewer credits are visible. If you use AI writing tools for website copy, use them for your own introduction. Keep the customer’s words intact and clearly attributed.
